ITAP internship hosts provide valuable supervision and mentoring for interns, who provide assistance for projects.
ITAP Associates work 7-10 hours per week on technology projects for faculty and staff hosts around the campus during their sophomore, junior, and senior years. While the associate provides the host with technological knowledge and skills, the host provides the associate with mentoring in the host's area of expertise as well as mentoring on professional behavior. Hosts also provide associates with valuable opportunities for growth through increasing responsibility along with projects that allow for creativity and problem-solving.
Each spring an ITAP administrator will send out (to all faculty and staff) a request for internship proposals for the following academic year. Approved internships are compiled into the ITAP Classifieds and posted online where ITAP students search for specific internships that match their interests and abilities. Associates then apply and interview for those internships.
If you would like to apply to be a host for the 2025-26 Academic Year, please complete the We accept applications on a rolling basis, however our priority deadline is April 25th, 2025. This allows associates and hosts to begin interviewing for internships while we are still engaged on campus in the spring.

Once an associate has accepted an offer to fill an internship, the host must email ITAP personnel at itap@depauw.edu confirming that an associate has accepted the offer. This email must include the associate name, internship title (as it appears on Classifieds), and must also CC the student. Only then will a timecard be created.
ITAP Hosts are responsible for monitoring and approving their ITAP Associates time cards. Time cards need to be approved every other Monday by 12PM (noon). Time cards are approved in ADP.
